Arbuck’s Chapel- January 10, 2024
Last Sunday, in my sermon, I talked about the new $10 million Planeview Community Center. Without Chapel Hill’s involvement in the neighborhood and our advocacy with City Hall, I truly believe this project would not be coming into fruition. Channel 3 came to Chapel Hill last Wednesday and did a story about the PCC and our involvement. If you would like to watch it, click on this link:

Thank you, Chapel Hill, for your commitment to serving the poor in the most impoverished neighborhood of our city, Plainview. Our primary connection to Planeview now is through the Colvin Elementary and Jardine Middle Schools. Starting this Sunday, we will begin collecting socks for children and youth. We will do so through Lent. So many of the children of Planeview do not have new socks. They are used to used or overused socks. Sometimes, if you are like me, I take something like socks for granted. Please remember the children and youth of Planeview over the next several weeks. We will collect the socks in the bins in the west narthex. Thank you for your generosity and support!
