This past Sunday, I mentioned the Rev Dr James Somerville, currently pastor of the First Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia, but I first met him when he was the pastor of the Capital Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. Jim’s most requested sermon is titled, “The Class of ’77.” He preached this sermon on the Second Sunday in Lent in 2006 based on Mark’s Gospel, chapter 8:31-38.
